Since the older boiler was a WM of approximately the same dimension, it made planning a little easier.
The old copper pipes (1 1/4") were sized to the old boiler so a reducing fitting had to be added to accommodate the new 1" copper and 1" black "iron" pipes dictated by the new boiler
Disconnecting the old boiler.
Opening the "hood" getting ready to pressure test.
A little tile replacement!

From the WM Boiler Manual: Flooring The CGi boiler is approved for installation on combustible flooring, but must never be installed on carpeting. Do not install boiler on carpeting even if foundation is used. Fire can result, causing severe personal injury, death or substantial property damage.
Some other corrections had to be made, since the mechanical room also houses a natural gas water heater. I wasn't interested in a domestic and heat combo.
It involved a reconfiguration of the cold water supply for both the water heater and the boiler. Also, some valves were replaced with ball valves.
