Installing the Taco 007e Circulator

Webstone 1/2" Expansion Tank Isolator w/ Waste (Male x Female) on expansion tank

Taco 007e Circulator installed with with Webstone rotating flanges (the rotating flanges came in very handy!)

A Caleffi Air Separator
was installed in front of the circulator in this photo. Note: Link is for a sweated fitting just to illustrate, but this is a threaded version.
This air separator is capable of automatically removing all air present in the system down to the micro-bubble level.

From the Caleffi website, "The pump can be directly after the air separator."

This replaces the old air scoop type that was on the old WM, that may have required "18 inches" of separation between the scoop and a 90
° elbow.
At room temperature (around 70°F), five gallons of water weighs about 41.6 lbs, and add the weight of the tank (around 7-8 lbs!)  What could possibly go wrong? These tanks and/or their installation is always perfect!

Also, there was no room to have the tank closer
(directly below the air separator) because of height restraints of the existing plumbing, and it would make servicing the equipment more difficult.

This photo may look like the tank is further from the boiler than it is. There is about 2 inches of separation, and more of course, from the bottom of the air separator (18" to the elbow before the tank valve).

As previously noted, this install is morphing, and in an upcoming photo, you will see the tank supported among other changes.
This Amtrol Expansion Tank was installed slightly away from the boiler. I don't like the "typical" install where this potential 5 gals of water is dangling over the electronic controls and/or flame inside of the boiler!

...and the air separator and the expansion tank...
